Overview of Azure Elastic Pool

An SQL elastic database pool is a group of two or more SQL databases with shared resources (eDTU and vCore) at a specific price. In this module, I will teach you how to manage and scale multiple SQL databases by using elastic database pools

The SQL Database elastic pool is a cost-effective solution for managing and scaling a group or a pool of SQL databases that have varying and unpredictable usage demands. It means that If a database has high average utilization, then it will take most of the eDTUs. so that the other databases won't get the required eDTUs and will have lower performance

We are planning to move azure cloud for from my on premises setup
On premises have server with SQL database with front and 200gb and database is 300gb. We need solution for zero down time. Mean one server down atleast start from another server because it is payroll application.
Request you to guide me for SQL database redundancy solution in SQL.

What happen when you removed the DB1 from the pool? is Azure will automatically assign a resource to that db?

your removing db1 database from elastic pool, if any tables data in db1 it is shifted to db2.
