More information about the video content bellow:
1. Arizona is home of the Grand Canyon National Park.

2. The Castilian and Burgundian flags of Spain, the Mexican flag, the Confederate flag, and the flag of the United States have all flown over the land area that has become Arizona.

3. Arizona is the 48th state and last of the contiguous states to be admitted to the Union, achieving statehood on February 14, 1912. Historically part of the territory of Alta California in New Spain, it became part of independent Mexico in 1821. After being defeated in the Mexican–American War, Mexico ceded much of this territory to the United States in 1848. The southernmost portion of the state was acquired in 1853 through the Gadsden Purchase.

4. The original London Bridge was shipped stone-by-stone and reconstructed in Lake Havasu City. The London Bridge crosses a narrow channel that leads from Lake Havasu (a segment of the Colorado River) to Thompson Bay (also on the river). It was bought for US $2.5 million from the City of London when the bridge was replaced in 1968. The bridge was disassembled, and the marked stones were shipped to Lake Havasu City and reassembled for another US $7 million.

5. There is a misconception that the state's name originated from the Spanish term Árida Zona ("Arid Zone"). The state's name appears to originate from an earlier Spanish name, Arizonac, derived from the O'odham name alĭ ṣonak, meaning "small spring," which initially applied only to an area near the silver mining camp of Planchas de Plata, Sonora. To the European settlers, their pronunciation sounded like "Arissona". The area is still known as alĭ ṣonak in the O'odham language.

6. Phoenix is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. state of Arizona. With 1,615,017 people (as of 2016), Phoenix is the fifth most populous city nationwide, the most populous state capital in the United States, and the only state capital with a population of more than one million residents. Settled in 1867 as an agricultural community near the confluence of the Salt and Gila Rivers, Phoenix incorporated as a city in 1881.

7. According to the National Weather Service, the biggest snowfall ever recorded in Phoenix measured one inch—once in 1933 and again in 1937. Arizona's all-time record high is 128 °F (53 °C) recorded at Lake Havasu City on June 29, 1994, and July 5, 2007; the all-time record low of −40 °F (−40 °C) was recorded at Hawley Lake on January 7, 1971.

Just want to comment to Al Cafone below - Arizona is amazing. If your experience was living among illiterate POS assholes then you are probably someone with no money who lived in the shittiest part of the city - therefore your view is SKEWED and invalid!! DO NOT LISTEN TO A WORD HE SAYS! Arizona is overwhelmingly stunning - has amazing weather where you can do outdoor activities all year round, and it is a place where there are ALWAYS things to see and do! It is the 6th largest city in the United States! Although the capital, Phoenix, is hot in summer it is a dry heat as there is next to no humidity - THERE IS ALSO NO MOSQUITOES!!!! Do you know how amazing it is to have no mosquitoes where you live?!! Also, everyone, and I mean everyone, has air conditioning. The houses are incredibly spacious and soooo affordable! You can get a HUGE house with a swimming pool and built in spa/jacuzzi for next to nothing! There are tons of shops and shopping centers/malls/plazas, movie theaters and so many great things to see and do in Phoenix such as the Phoenix Zoo, Rawhide, 3 aquariums, many water parks and wildlife parks, and a huge cultural arts center and lots of museums downtown. You are within a 5 hour drive to San Diego, a 6 hour drive to L.A., a 2 hour drive north to be up in the snow in Prescott and Flagstaff, another 2 hour drive to Sedona where you can see and experience the most amazing scenery in the country where there is red rock and red sand with tons of fun activities to do - such as taking your family swimming down slide rock, a 4 hour drive to the Grand Canyon and Vegas, and you can go south to visit Tucson or go to the boarder. It's an incredible city with PLENTY of jobs - never had a problem ever getting work in Phoenix. It is a top notch city with a great vibe to it. I should know as I've lived there my whole life and have traveled around the world and the USA and I know just how good people in Phoenix have it and may not realize it. It has affluent schools with International Baccalaureate programs. It's one of the best cities in the U.S. and the most affordable at that!

This video is misleading. A lot of information about Phoenix, not about the entire state. Phoenix may have a low snowfall but drive 3 hours north the there is Snowbowl...a ski resort where many feet of snow fall. The grand canyon is also covered in snow for many months of the year. This video show have focused on the entire state, not just the capitol city.

That’s not where Arizona got it’s name from. It’s from a town in Mexico.
