For the best quality Amazon Music HD listening experience, watch this video first. Then, get the best speakers and/or headphones that you can afford. Along with either of these external audio sound cards (interfaces):

If you really want to go even higher end, ask me for suggestions.

how about using an outside DAC instead of the one in the streamer, whether it's a pc or a phone.

I did forget to include one setting suggestion, because after a fresh Windows install it's the first thing that gets disabled. Under your device properties (where the sample rate is changed) go to the Enhancements tab and turn it all OFF!

Thank you so much for the tutorial. The information on Windows 10 bit rate/sampling options has finally brought my Amazon HD Music subscription up to claimed capabilities working through my Fiio DAC. Great Job!

Good stuff. I love Amazon Music HD. Its totally worth the little extra $/month. (PS: A guide for Mac users would be useful.)

Hi, thanks for the content, I recently got a external DAC Hiby FC3 I did all this settings, except it doesn’t have his on software to control the DAC but I set it to the maximum is capable of deciding up to MQA, but for some reason every time I play a song either stream or Download the max rate is 44khz, when you click in the HD/ULTRA HD logo, the app tells you what are you currently playing with details of bit rate it recognizes that the DAC is capable playing higher rates but audio is only playing at 44, hope you can help me how to get best out of it

great vid. thanks.
--What exactly does the sound "Normalization" do? Digitally lower/increase the level to a certain pre determined point, which is not set by me? So if it does, then it's lowering recorded volume or increasing it. Probably could add distortion?

Can you download very old classic songs in flac format? 40's, 50's, 60's? Like the temptations, sam cooke, etc

If I wanted to listen to music while driving would Amazon HD make a difference or would I be better off just using regular Amazon music?

is that all tracks will be upsampled to the highest bit rate .Ya think 16/44 would be better . For some reason my computer does not say 2 channel, but it will let me set it to 32/384 and it does change on my DAC screen to 384. Where is my 2 channel setting ?.What should I do .I do have a SMSL DO 100 DAC

I use the Amazon HD with windows 10 on my PC. Is there something like Audirvana that would bypass more of things in my PC that may still be limiting the quality of my audio?

For those getting bent out of shape about bitrate, I suspect that almost every modern motherboard (ie anything manufactured in the last 5 years) with a Realtek chip supports 24-bit/192kHz, as will most modern smartphones. Fiio, Topping and others will happily sell you a DAC (or dac/amp) for less than 100USD that plugs straight into one of your USB ports or (in some cases) to your phone for USB OTG. I've had this little guy for over 12 months and it has never let me down.

Under Windows 10, installation was completely painless - under Mac or Linux, you wont even need drivers at all. You wont get everything the higher bitrate MAY be capable of, but I guarantee that it will be better (and more powerful) than your onboard audio and over 85% of the phones out there.

hello :)

I've owned the audioengine B1 bluetooth receiver for a few years and it's an amazing piece of kit..!

I've got it connected to my Cairn mono block amplifiers running with dali speakers (worth nearly £7k new) - then bluetoothed too my HP laptop using the AptX codec and it sounds great..!

i mainly listen to amazon music which I think is upto 320kbs,
but they also have a service call amazon music HD which runs 16bit files with 44.1 kilohertz sampling and upto 850mbs,
and the HD option also includes ultra HD music files which are 24bit lossless files (above cd quality) - 192 kilohertz sampling rate and upto 3730mbs..

so, my question is, will my setup benefit from the upgrade to amazon HD music, or will i not be able to hear a difference?
