BRICS summit: China's Xi Jinping urges greater role in global governance for developing countries

China's President Xi Jinping has urged BRICS nations to seek a greater role in global governance, and is pushing for accelerated reform of international financial institutions such as the World Bank and the IMF. Mr Xi also rejected unilateral sanctions and called for a bigger voice for developing countries in international affairs. The remarks are contained in an article signed by Mr Xi published in South African media, ahead of the BRICS summit that starts on Aug 22 in Johannesburg.

The West Has Not Done Enough To Help Ukraine — Kiev
The Economist reports citing the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s office, that Kiev’s so-called offensive is not going as planned due to resource and logistics problems.
