CORRECTION:
Thou shalt not kill is not in the Ten Commandments. It's correct translation from the Hebrew is "Thou shall not murder"
Hebrew, like English has two words, with two different meanings for "murder" and "killing".

The Hebrew word for killing is harag, and the Hebrew word for murder is ratzach.

The commandment is lo tirtach (ratzach), and its meaning is clear: “Thou shalt not murder.”

All murder is killing, but not all killing is murder. Killing a chicken for food is not murder, and killing a person in self-defense is not murder.

I used to be in Christian prayer group and left it because they were trying to be self preserving not touching anything that could be sounding controversial. The Bible says the Kingdom of God suffereth violence and the violence take it by force. Our God is Almighty not a weakling.
