painting in monotone. I've just started watercolor painting. All those colors Whew! It can be confusing to a new student. A limited palette has become very useful for me, and the most uber of all limited palettes is the monotone. It sounds more boring than it really is. It teaches tone, atmospheric qualities accomplished by many techniques, and the power of line. I was having so much fun, I had to be reminded I could actually have more than one color in a limited palette, I could have as many as six! oy. I chose three warms and three cools, which brought me to color mixing. It's all so exciting. =) I'll stop now.
