Myanmar Earthquake Today | Strong mag. 5.9 earthquake hits Keng Tung, Kengtung District, Shan State

The German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported a magnitude 5.5 quake in Myanmar (Burma) near Keng Tung, Kengtung District, Shan State. The earthquake hit late at night on Thursday, July 21st, 2022, at 11:07 pm local time at a shallow depth of 10 km.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which reported the same quake at magnitude 5.6.

In Keng Tung, located 62 km from the epicenter, Tachilek, 70 km away, and Mae Sai, 72 km away, the quake should have been felt as light shaking.

Weak shaking might have been felt in Chiang Saen, located 93 km from the epicenter, Mae Chan, 104 km away, and Chiang Rai, 130 km away.
