I did this same thing back when I was in the AF. I came home from England to attend a tech school class the first week in January. I spent all of three days to get everything ready, with no time to let anyone know I was coming home for Christmas.

I was able to contact a sister between flight to Maguire AFB and Philli airport. Landed, and sis picked me up. Then, he dropped me off at the end of the block and walked to the house.mom answered the door, but I wouldn't let me in because I was supposed to be in England. Three tries later, she realized it was me.

Dad got home and walked past me three or more times. Sat to read the newspaper. I finally let out if he wasn't going to talk to me, I'd fly back to England. He about had a heart attack. The only one not surprised, my grandmother. She just knew I'd be home for Christmas. I got there the week before. Never tried that again.
