Prince of Persia is back in classic style with a 2D action platformer. Prince of Persia's 2D iteration looks to be an action-heavy Metroidvania with incredible boss fights. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown releases January 18, 2024.

I saw Prince of Persia in the title and got excited. Then it took literally 2 seconds and I already had doubts. Then I saw the Ubisoft logo and immediately my fears were realised. Then I heard the music and turned it off.

I've been a POP fan since 1996 and I can say with all my heart that this is exactly what I wanted. So I'm not buying the whole "old fans are not liking it" vibe here. Maybe people usually are more inclined to complain than praise, or maybe it's just that people who complain usually make more noise.
