I am now 60 years old and infinitely grateful that I have been able to enjoy this brilliant music since the early 70s to this day.

my dad was on his death bed and was trying to say backstroke. he mumbled youtube so i youtubed it. this song came up and was the one he was talking about. that was the first time i heard this song. he could barley talk or move but he didnt fail to tap his finger along to the beat like he always used to. it was his last request and i will never forget this song. i miss you and i love you dad!

My parents sent me to live with my grandmother in Scottsdale Arizona for a couple of years so I could learn English with my uncles and aunts. Grandma han 24 kids. So, I used to wait hours to hear this song when I was 10 years old back in 1979, KUKQ radio station! It's still way better than a lot of the junk music now days. Barkays, Gap Band, Zapp, One Way, S.O.S Band, and all those groups of musicians from the 70's 80's were the real music players. There were also groups and musicians from other countries with good old music. Mexico was right there with their own, but these groups were also played in the Mexican discotechs ( night clubs) My dad owned a few of these back in the day and the DJ who worked for him in one of his clubs had the list of nothing but the hits of the moment! So when I came back to my mother and father Of course I'd get a copy each week! Good ol days with good ol jams!

It’s sad AF most of the roller rinks out there closin up shop. Everything’s an insurance liability nowadays, people hatin on everything that’s “old”. Most people under 25 never even got to experience stuff like that. Jammin to some funky tracks, rollin around the wood floor with the whole vibe, the lights, the greasy food. Some of my best memories as a kid.
