'The party of aspiration ...' straight from the Tory playbook. You cannot make this stuff up. So, let me get this right in the past Labour was not a party of aspiration for the people of the UK? That's odd! I am sure Clement Attlee and Harold Wilson realised this and did something to help ordinary people 'aspire' to a better life and longer, healthier life. Both these PM's made some hard choices and tough decisions, far harder than the current set of Labour leaders seem to be taking. They never shied away from becoming unpopular if it meant that in the long term life for ordinary people would improve.
