"I'm sorry my post didn't encompass all human experience" is one of the wisest things I've seen posted on twitter

Once my mom said I shouldn't be depressed because others have it way worse so I said: "Oh you're right! The thought of other people's misery does make me happy. Just thinking of all those people in the world suffering... I feel better immediately! All those children starving while I am full, it does fill my heart with joy..." She never used this argument again.

Literally me with my "invisible" medical condition trying to explain to people that I'm disabled and/or in pain and them responding with little gems such as you can walk fine, how are you disabled" yup.

This is called the fallacy of relative privation. It's used to delegitmize a persons problems.

How I felt going to the hospital thinking I was having an actual heart attack and dying, and then telling me it’s just gas, only for them to realize I was in fact having a mild heart attack.

OMG PTSD flashbacks to my ex when I was going through PPD and he was always like "you should be grateful, you're so privleged." Like ok, David, but people are allowed to feel things. Mind you I had to listen to every single one of his problems and sympathise.

It's amazing how a person can categorically deflect away from helping others and then still see themselves as the hero who helps people
