I have a 2018 Z06 corvette and could not justify paying 1 hundred thousand for 20 HP .So I got a 23 S Plaid with 1020 Hp.never been happier.Cant wait for the next up grade

I really like the vette but it’s kinda sad that the vette isn’t faster than a family performance sedan out of the box. So for the price of the E ray new I could get an M3 performance AND beater/used car…just doesn’t make sense…

After living with just a model X long range, I can’t justify ever buying a gas powered performance car for performance. Not only are tesla’s fast and will embarrass just about any fast car on the street in just about all driving situations, they are practical.

Remember this is the drag strip, the only place just about where this expensive performance gas car (hybrid) can be competitive. On the street, on the highway, the Tesla can just take off and go with no prep required and embarrass the gas car, while your kids are in the back seat.

Amazing we live in a time where practicality and speed can coexist. The Corvette exists for sports car enthusiasts. The model 3 exists for people who need practical transportation. Would love to see a track comparison too.

Huh... I had the Tesla winning handedly in the quarter. The acceleration of a purely electric car is just insane, giving them a massive edge over any hybrid or petrol-fed car. Pays to the testimony of just how powerful the new e-ray is.

There is no doubt that these two cars are evenly match in the 1/4 mile on a high DA day. On a better DA (Density Altitude) day, the E-Ray would take the race. The E-Ray is rated at 10.6 in the 1/4 mile by Car and Driver. The Tesla Model 3 Performance is rated at 11.00 at 125mph. Additionally, the C8-ERay in this video is a heavier HTC (Hard Top Convertible) model and not the slightly lighter and faster E-Ray coupe.

It's funny how the drag strip used to be how American muscle asserted it's dominance.... then when EV driving soccer mom's started walking down muscle cars, The goal posts had to move, and every time the goal posts move theres an EV waiting for it.
This is the fuel injection versus carbureted, and naturally aspirated versus forced arguments with a new shade of paint slapped on it.

Wow the Telsa won? I hate that color BUT that is a beautiful car. A chick magnet for sure. That car scream testosterone! My concern is how much is it and how much is maintenance and reliability. A Tesla you can take it to the drag strip every day and you’ll only have to worry about tires. I think if you drove this Corvette hard a lot you’d be doing a lot of maintenance and eventually repairs so driving it hard would have to be kept to a minimum which takes the fun out of of it.
