Aside from the fact that this was 2019, it is totally irrelevant whether AP was engaged or not. The driver has always, and continues to be, solely responsible for any and all accidents.
With that said Tesla needs to add automatic stop light/sign stopping to all its vehicles, including base models. Tesla is all about safety and this should be included in the price of all Teslas sold.

Depends on when in 2019 it was but I don't think Autopilot had stoplight detection at that point. 100% driver fault there. Still have to keep your eyes on the road.

Worth noting also that autopilot and FSD are different things, and that back then neither had "stopping at a traffic light" as a feature, meaning the driver was doubly negligent:
Using the system outside of highway driving and not paying attention while doing so.

As for all the "negative" publicity as of late, I think you mean this guy that (embarrassingly) admitted he works for basically every single other company that's competing with the system:

Needless to say, the competition is getting restless, and those NY times attack ads are not cheap - $150, 000 a pop before adding color.

Why pick on Tesla Autopilot? There are no headlines of other makes plowing into other cars with their similar cruise control on. No one questions Audi if an Audi driver is t-bones a car at a stoplight. Why no headlines for them? Irresponsible journalism.

Please get the terms straight. The car did NOT have FSD or Full Selft Driving. "Tesla Autopilot" is Tesla's name for their combined Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping technologies. It is standard on all their cars. Both are also standard on my Acura RDX Advance. Most higher-end cars come with both technologies. If you get in your car, turn on lane-keeping and cruise control and then crash - that's your fault. The rest is cheap headlines and clickbait. Count the number of outlets that cover this and then count how many get it correct. (Autoline did not misrepresent this today. The distinction however is important)

Everyone must be scared $%^#less of Tesla and EVs in general. I'm starting to see daily stories bashing EVs and even "generated" content on YouTube in my feed. You know you're doing something right when the knives come out and you are still selling every car you can make as fast as you can make them. Maybe if a few folks get scared off by these stories and drop out of line I can get my Tesla sooner! 😀

It's too bad Chevy put the original Avalanche bumper on the new electric Silverado. Way too much plastic body cladding on the rear quarter & bumper of the truck.

Last Mile delivery should be held to same standard of Vehicles on the Road for crashes and wrecks with others at speed. Yeah GM Parts online! ;-) for all Service and Builders of Cars of GM and GM Past with Parts online+++ ;-D

Silverado EV is coming to market so quickly is because it shares a platform with the Hummer EV. GM is going to have several models making use of that platform, the GMC Sierra EV and I wouldn't be surprised a bit if Tahoe/Suburban EVs are well into development plus the GMC & Cadillac variants of those models. GM completely owns these segments of the industry and they're not gonna hand over that market share as the industry transitions to BEVs.

I drove a Model Y for the first time recently with a one day rental and with zero experience with EVs, quickly learned to love Auto Pilot and used it on ALL TYPES OF ROADS all day long. No wonder Tesla's pathetic and incompetent competition has started a non stop FUD news cycle regarding it... and that our Tesla Hating FEDERAL GOVERNMENT is now "investigating" Tesla for all sorts of things. *Tesla AP is fantastic.* *Teslas are fantastic!* Get used to this.

Anything to cast Tesla in a bad light.

OMG! These Tesla fanboys are worse than BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz fanboys combined! 😖 So Autoline can report positive things about Tesla like he did about positive sales in previous episodes but should not report negative things. They say you guys are self-centered, now I understand why...

I haven’t watched in several months sad to see the only thing you talk about are E.Vs and battery technology. Someday you will realize full E.V adoption is still a long ways off. It is estimated that we will need a 30% increase is in power production to accommodate full adoption so needless to say it isn’t happening anytime soon. { When was the last time a new power plant got approved and how log did it take to become reality?}
The I.C.E still has a good life ahead.

It's a pity all the disclaimers from Tesla keep them from being held liable when someone crashes thinking FSD actually will drive their car for them - UNTIL IT DOESN'T.
