My theory hope was actually a real person but when they found out she was in love with THE shera they made her into a robot programmed to only get Mara to serve her purpose

That's the tragedy of the relationship between light hope and Mara. They truly cared about each other, but the programming of the "first ones" (I am going to assume that they were ancient eternians) drove them apart. I think that Adora recognized this at the end, but didn't have the time to process it due to the threat of Horde prime. It was because light hope loved Mara that Adora was able to stop the heart of etheria from being used in season 4. I miss light hope as much as Mara. They both sadly didn't get a happy ending.

The way the Lighthope fought her own emotions are Mara and decided to delete her only memory of them together-

I really love this couple mara and light hope is such a devastating and tragic story, but the message how love can change people just how it changed light hope and even though light hope erased her memories of mara earlier because of her programming so she can go through with the heart of etheria project, in the last minute light hope gave in and remembered those memories of mara that brought her warmth and love and this is through what adora was saying right before she gave into those memories of mara thus letting adora break the sword. Then light hope says thank you to adora, thanks for reminding light hope that she is more than just a programming and the love she and mara had for each other was real.... wow the ending of season 4 of shera was impeccable

That scene where Light Hope is struggling against her programming and breaks through because of the memory of Mara bringing her flowers makes me cry every time. It's not Mara's sacrifice that caused her change of heart, it's just a small moment between two friends that Light Hope couldn't forget even when she actively tried to. I don't buy that they were gay for each other. In some ways, I think it's more powerful that Light Hope refused her programming for a friend instead of a lover.
