Theodorakis: Mauthausen - Greek Pronunciation

Mauthausen is considered one of the most beautiful musical works about the Holocaust. Composed by Mikis Theodorakis, it's set to the poetry of concentration camp survivor Iakovos Kambanellis. This piece has been translated and performed in many languages, including English, German, Hebrew and Yiddish, owing to its universal message. This video is intended for non-Greek speakers who who want to perform it in the original Greek. The score, published by Schott, includes Greek lyrics and a transliteration in Latin characters, but doesn't sufficiently convey some of the sounds that are distinctive to the Greek language.
