Thank you! It worked for me too! In my case it was a through-hole 24LC512 in inadequate contact within the ZIF socket. I removed the chip from the socket, placed it back into the ZIF, pushed down on the chip nd re-locked the ZIF. Error disappeared!

So it's a pin connection issue? I'm having trouble. It writes the bin correctly, then verifying reveals that they don't match.
But I'm just keeping it pressed onto the adapter board with a clamp, not soldered on. Guess ill try soldering it on.

Mine each time i read the chip, programmer gets a diferent data. If i read the data and verify, it gives error saying "content are indisagreement".
