I just came back to watch this segment again after seeing the Paul Heyman and Cody Rhodes exchange on Raw and honestly, this makes this entire segment even more powerful. Dusty, at this point in his career l, was at his lowest as his family was broke and needed the money. Say what you want about Paul Heyman, but this segment was brilliantly booked because he made Dusty look like the legend that he should’ve been portrayed as instead of a joke. The man who helped pioneer hardcore wrestling.

Dusty is a man of a different era; and here he is not only being treated like a legend BUT the ECW crowd welcoming him with open arms. Beautiful

Dusty was older here and out of shape but he literally moved just as good as some of the younger wrestlers. That's putting heart into your work.

Mind you Dusty got fired by WCW earlier in '99 so he was an 'free agent' at this point in his career but yet this program/feud both 'made' Corino and resurrected Dusty's career
