I kept my base Everdell CE as well even after I received the Complete Collection from the KS; simply because while I can see myself bringing the former to a friend's house the latter stays at home permanently for sure.
Those empty tray slots for the premium resource vessels ended up annoying me so much that I ended up getting them even though their price point is a bit ridiculous. So I guess that's a W for Tabletop Tycoon's usual borderline scammy marketing tricks right there and they suckered you in too heh.

Still, I love knowing I do have everything belonging to the core Everdell experience (so exempting My lil' and Farshore obv) in a single gorgeous box the size of a child pharao's sarcophagus sitting in one of the Kallaxes.

I'll definitely sign off on your petition to include box organization cheat sheets with every board game that has even a modicum of compontent complexity. I always feel super dumb bumbling through the 'hm, this stuff could go there I suppose" phase and end up looking up threads on BGG with pics. Worst offender are those trays that have some taylored slots for particular tokens but then also a bunch of "just put whatever you feel like in here, like whatevs bro fr fr" ones that don't fit anything particularly well.

But very smart to always keep those trusty embroidery scissors handy just in case ;)
