We recently return from there. It is absolutely beautiful and literally breathtaking. Because it is so high I got light headed because of how thin the air is up there. But just take it slow and you will not have any problems. Bring water with you.

Chamonix, I was there in Aug 17, lovely,  o.k maybe 3 times more expensive on some items, only to be expected,   moving around on trains, buses, up the mountains to spectacular views. Up to 90 deg in valley to minus temps up on mountain  after a trip on the Gondola, glaciers, very good.  Over all Enjoyed the visit. Lots to do. One Must go.

I visited Courmayeur couple of times. Advice for travellers: visit these area's either in late spring or mid-autumn: the sky is clearer
