What if you went back in time and killed your own grandfather? Would you still be born? Or would you have killed yourself? If you could travel back in time and killed your grandfather, would you be killing your future self? What do physics have to say about this famous murderous time-travel paradox mystery? Let's discuss about Grandfather Paradox and its solutions in today's video of DiscoverZen.

What do you think about Time Travel and Grandfather Paradox?

If we consider travel back in time as possible, then Novikov's principle of self-consistency would be the only solution to the grandfather paradox to have a logical coherence, as the multiverse-based solution generates grandfather paradoxes in turn.

honestly the solutions are dependant on how you perceive the timeline.

There is nothing complex about time travel, there is only one timeline and it does not create any paradoxes!
If you go back and kill you grandfather nothing will happen until you return to the present when no one would know who you were. You displaced yourself from the new history, if you change something in the past expect the implications to ripple forward to you present...

1:41 this is likely incorrect. Quantum physics have real life examples of electrons and their physics not working the same way everywhere. Sometimes shoot electrons behave as waves and sometimes as single particles depending if they are observed or not. There is no scientific explanation to this known paradox. You even mention it - the superposition.
