LocalSend to transfer files on your network
This was presented on Tech for Seniors on Monday May 6, 2024 by Hewie Poplock

Discover the seamless file transfer capabilities of LocalSend, a cross-platform solution compatible with Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Android, iOS, and Chrome OS devices. With installation options including executable files for traditional installation and zip files for portable use, LocalSend ensures convenience for users. Each device is easily identifiable through assigned names and numbers, simplifying navigation. LocalSend supports a wide range of file types, including files, folders, text, and copied items, with customizable settings to cater to individual preferences. Users can rely on a supportive community for assistance and information. The video provides platform-specific installation instructions, exemplified on an iPad through the Apple Store. While requiring network permissions to locate and connect devices, LocalSend automates device discovery on the network. Although limited to transferring files to one device at a time, the process is straightforward, as demonstrated from a PC to both a Samsung phone and a Windows laptop. Recipient devices receive prompts to accept or decline file transfers, with demonstrated playback using VLC player. LocalSend's availability is detailed, and the presentation is led by Hewie Poplock, offering comprehensive insight into this efficient file transfer tool.

It gives me weird errors where its failing to send files just ends in errors and its very intermittent. One day it will work the next day I'm fighting for my life

Normally "transfer" means MOVE, but for this app it means COPY, correct?

You lost me. My nearby devices are not popping up like yours at 2:59. What do I need to do?
