In my humble opinion, the discipline in the peloton was way better some years ago. Many crashes were caused by the riders themselves, because they take far more risks as a couple of years ago.
In my days (1980s - 90s) as an amateur cyclist, such behaviour would not be tolerated in the peloton!

Don’t give a toss. I’m not on the peloton. Anyone who is can decide their risk level, from last across the line to Darwin Award contender.

As for “watching cycling”, that would be a hard “no”. Instead, I watch where my tires are on the road. I watch surface conditions and hazards. I watch my heart rate, distance and speed.

U guys are Overthinking all this……………!! it’s not going to get 4 klm faster”!!, quit acting as if cycling is like a 60/65 mph sport like it’s Moto GP or something wherever they race. They’re riding bicycles “……….like I said b4 1986 TDF TO 2024 speed difference was 2.3 mph in 38 4 klm per hour in 38 years, , , , think about it””, and bikes back then were 18/19 lbs, and the 86 TDF was 322 miles longer. It’s not going to get faster……..if it does its fractional and I mean fractional faster…….. in another 38 a lot faster like ya guys are making it out to be.

No reason not to armor up the riders. It's a green ($) field for the R&D tech trend bonanza of bike brands and if it trickles down to consumers it'll actually do something meaningful.
