Thanks for the clear explanation of how best to use this graph. It's actually one of the most useful tools on Strava. I have tried the graph via the Elevate plug-in, but find that it's a little unclear on the FTP/weight data updating. You can get the same thing through the (paid) Fitness & Freshness on the Summit Analysis pack. Given that this pack only costs around $17 for the year and it lets you compare the segment efforts and track power, I reckon it's worth paying for just Analysis pack rather than accessing via the clunky Elevate..

Strava and Training Peaks call it “fitness” but after years and years of use, I’ve come to understand that’s somewhat misleading. It’s “stress” and while stress is a good indicator of fitness, it’s not always the case. And, not all training “stress” is created equal. These tools are super helpful, but still have their limitations.

Did strava buy elevate recently? It seems like they just recently rolled out form, freshness and fatigue. I assume that’s a newer feature set since u did this video.

I was doing a recovery ride. 1.5-2.0w/kg... easy they said.... several minutes behind I said.. well I’ll get there eventually

I find elevate very helpful however, it does not matter how hard I hit it on a run. My fitness and fatigue is always decreasing. It is only cycling that increases my fitness and fatigue and running is certainly my weaker sport. So you'd think due to the amount of physical stress I feel after some savage run efforts it would at least contribute to my progression on elevate
