As much as I love Lego, and will continue to love it, I think it's unconscionable that Mr. Sadovich didn't get his initials immortalized on the set then, and _still_ doesn't get that respect on a re-release... I am not saying that the Lego designer doesn't deserve credit. I am saying that it would have been nice to have the _option_ to have Jake's initials OR the Lego designers at the builder's discretion. I proudly display my Ship in a Bottle, but I have a generic red round tile for the wax seal. I refuse to give Lego a pass on what I think is a slap in the face to the ideas community and Jake Sadovich.

No changes that I could find with the set, as expected, and the trans clear parts are the same, not the newer foggy stuff. Only changes to the manual I could find are that the inventory page is laid out differently (parts in different order) and the final page has updated sets being advertised. That and of course the new set number, also on the boxes I got have the same parts count as the original.

I think it’d have been cool to put a different ship in it.

Annnd, Lego still didn’t fix the round tile with the initials of Lego employee Tiago Catarino stealing credit from Jake Sadovich.

Can anyone who bought 92177 set feedback if it has the new type of transparent clear parts that are foggy and not perfectly clear and if they were scratched in new condition? LEGO deliberately changed the material due to cost and sustainability reasons but the parts look cheaper and get easier scratched inside new sets due to being made from a lighter and softer material than previous poly carbonate parts? This is a big deal for collectors and MOC builders since the part numbers didn't change and cannot be distinguished.

@Beyond the Brick: Is this set really popular in the USA or why do you think it was re-released? Also, at the moment, it's only available on LEGO North America which is unusual. In Europe it's not the most popular Ideas set compared to the Saturn V or Old Fishing Store. Don't get me wrong, I also bought the first Ship in the Bottle and love it. Kudos to Jake.

Popular demand my ass, this didn't sell well - it was much smaller and inferior to the original design. Real reason LEGO brought it back was that they had tons of stock left over.
