Huge meeting of Russian mobsters raided by Special Forces — Vory v Zakone

Here is a fascinating glimpse into the venerable Russian underworld. Russian mobsters — the Vor v Zakone or Thieves in Law — are a powerful bunch, with one of the most interesting underworld codes among the world’s major organized crime groups. Let me tell you about it.
The Mob Reporter here with news from Russia, where authorities have their own special way of dealing with these mobsters that are notoriously anti-authoritarian. Unlike career criminals of other global underworld traditions — such as the Italian Mafia, who often mingle seamlessly in the upper world — the traditional Russian thieves are sworn to never cooperate with any government and never to earn an honest wage.
In this scene, in December, 2015, a large gathering of men aligned to two separate groups of Russian vors is cut short by Moscow police backed up by Russian Special Forces. It’s a large-scale Russian version of stop-and-frisk. Police detained 53 men gathering at a country club in a suburb of Moscow, Russia’s capital city. More than half of them had prior convictions. Several of them also bore the tell-tale tattoos of the vors — garish but deeply symbolic ink, usually done in prison, that tells others of their dedication to the thieves’ code and their personal criminal journey.
The meeting was to be a sit-down between two groups — over a BMW X6. Apparently a member of one group sold the BMW to a member of the other, without warning him it was stolen. The buyer considered this an insult and sought compensation, if not retaliation. About 30 men from each side came to the meeting.

In the Russian mafia, theft is considered an elite crime, and a thief is the “right” person. The thief has great authority in the criminal environment and all other gangsters must pay tribute to him. Generally, thieves are smart and have business skills. Not all thieves become "in the law", but only the most cunning and clever ones. Thieves have disagreements and conflicts, so they arrange "strelki". This Russian word is a cross between a meeting and a firefight. They have weapons to shoot each other if they don't agree.
This video shows a capture during a thieves meeting (strelka).

The sheer understanding between two groups who came together to discuss a petty issue shows what a organised crime is.

Special forces: “Your all under arrest! Lay down on the ground!!”
Mobster 1: “Sir, can I zip up my jacket? The ground is cold?”
Special forces: “Yea go for it..”
Mobster 2: “Excuse me officer, can I tuck in my shirt?”
Special forces: “Yea sure no problem, take your time..”

Imagine the happiness of those gang members who were late at the meeting or didn't make out to the meeting for some reason?

Fact: The car plate numbers you see 1:48 АУЕ001 is an abbreviation for "Arestantskiy Uklad Yedin" - something like 'Thug Life'. This abbreviation is considering as extremist by Russian law.
