Takes guts to admit she was fired from a role that someone else went on to be nominated for an oscar with.

She handled herself with such class on that question! She’s definitely really confident in herself because most people would deflect and never admit they were fired. ESPECIALLY famous celebrities who already think way too highly of themselves

Wow, firing an Oscar winner is a big decision. I like Julianne admitting it hurt to be fired and being honest when actors often avoid telling the truth about what really happens in the business.

Someone with so much talent, acclaim and fame can still be hurt by not getting a job they really wanted. I think that’s just an important reminder, that even if you are a huge star, you can still go through something like that.
Love her, she handled it beautifully.

All the respect to her for admitting it! We’ve all been there. So much respect to her for how open she is, her talent, and how she carries herself.

This just makes me love Julianne MORE! Also Melissa McCarthy owned that role and it was just meant to be.

Okay this is gotta be the first time hearing a public figure honestly say they were fired from something so recent? She handled herself really well too and express her pain over it without bashing neither the director nor her replacement. Love this woman.

Nicole fired her and dropped out of the movie too as the director. It was still in development stages. The producers Then later on, brought Marielle Heller and Melissa McCarthy on board and made the flick.

Now I don’t feel so bad for being fired for a job. She’s incredible. I watched “ still Alice “, which is a very heavy film and watched it more than once because of her performance.

Wow! Even an Oscar winner can get fired, be hurt about it, and honestly admit to it. You have got to respect this woman ❤️

Love the honesty and humility - she could have easily lied or said something to make it sound better

I just love how open she was about getting fired. I don't think many actors would admit that so confidently, especially on her caliber, I wouldn't be comfortable taking about getting fired and I'm not even famous. that's why she's my favorite actress, no bullshit. love her

You never hear about actors being fired from films. I wonder if it happens more than we know or if directors think it will cause distraction to the film itself and avoid doing it

Most actors would try and keep this a little quiet (just for the sake of decorum and out of respect for the other actress), but Julianne handled it really well! Sometimes this just happens in movies even with talented performers. Nicole Holofcener is an amazing filmmaker and what she and Melissa did with the character turned out to be fantastic.

I respect her honesty. After all the fame and achievement she got, didn't make her feel embarassed telling that she was fired from a project. Like any regular jobs, sometimes we fail to deliver or got terminated. She's just being real and I admire her even more .
