Awesome video as I am literally midway in the peocess of setting up a bioactive for my A.Metallica- seems the most logical thing to do, living in the woods (45 acres+) was to go get spring tails and some moss, use some reptisoil and collect some springtails/rollypollies. Went for a simple plant that likes low light/high heat/humidity (polka dot hypoestes, which will work amazing with her colors too being a pink/green/white plant!)- and bam! Bioactive, high humidity holding enclosure. Idk why the community thinks it is so hard to do! Ive literally done very very similar for my Poecie's (been keeping OW's since lile 2007ish). Ironically enough this Avic and a GBB are my very firat new world's, EVER. My *very* first T was a P Murinus, so I was taught a distant respect/hands off approach to keeping by her from the very start of my T keeping journey! 🤣🤣

Been doing bioactives for anything I ever kept small animal wise since I was a small child- up to and including my gerbils when I was like 7/8, lol. T's seem to *thrive* in bioactive set ups. Idk if it is because it replicates their natural environment, (yet is a bit controlled done right- even though surprisingly hands off comparitve to a non-bioactive), or if it simply due to the attentiveness a bioactive seems to draw compared to a non. I always found myself checking on, and monitoring (most likely due to admiring mini-biome), bioactive set ups way more than otherwise. I meam that is partially what makes a saltwater tank more addictive too! I think bioactive keeping of Ts is a subgenre of the hobby/lifestyle that deserves its own catagory. You have Old World, New World, Breeders, and Bioactive Keeper's.
