About 9 years ago a car I was riding in was hit head on by a drunk driver. I went from a young, athletic, healthy young woman to someone who could barely stand and was completely consumed by nerve pain. It destroyed the relationship I had with my husband. My body was literally my cage, and it was a few years later PG released this cover. It changed my outlook completely. Every day is still a struggle, but my life is better now than it ever was. My mind held the key, and my pain does not shackle me as it once did. Incredible song. Incredible cover.

My grand mother died of dementia and i always think of this song and it always hurts so bad knowing the poor womens body was a cage . She lived with us for my whole life and i saw her going from a normal loving women to a shadow of what she was that really hurts. Sometimes seeing the fear in someone eyes because she doesn t know where she is or having to explain to her her husband is not coming home but dead years ago that hurts like hell. I always feel like this song really discribes it
