The snowfox is cool, but the prawn suit with a grapple arm can go 3 times as fast.
You can decimate the land sections of the game with amount of speed.

The snowfox always felt so clunky to me. I always say how I expected it to operate like a Ghost from the Halo franchise. Now THAT would have been great

I would have designed it so you can hover around on land, but also dive off into the water and have the turbine switch modes, giving you an amphibious vehicle that is very fast in water and on land at the cost of no protection. It should be a little more maneuverable too, especially in terms of side-to-side strafing.

Snowfox is an appropriate name, since foxes live in burrows and mine disappeared into the ground about ~70% of the times I deployed it.

Fun fact the snofox hoverpad doesn't require any source of energy for repaire the snowfox and recharge it. And if you understand this fun fact, you should notice that the snowfox hoverpad cost you less ressources than a battery charger, require no energy drain from your base and is mutch faster the reacharge a battery then if you simply put them inside your pile charger. So, if someday you don't have any more power in your base and you possses a snowfox nearby, you simply need to keep insede your inventory or your quantum storage an advanced kit for simply building a snowfox hoverpad anywhere you want for simply recharge your batteries if you need it because yes even if you lost in the artic spire biome and you don't have any battery, even in this biome, you can easily find 2 titanium than build your snowfox hoverpad without the need to connect it to a solar panel or even a termal plant system to work.

Ps, I think this is a little bug, because we can effectively connect an energy source to our snowfox hoverpad but at the end it doesn't do anything else than simply stealing an pretty useful power energy generator from being used in your base so just keep in mind that, its always good to take when you are in some very serious emergency with your battery supply and mutch importantly wen you really need to improve your energy draining from your base first😅

i always just went on land with my prawn suit because i found that the ice worm taking me of my snowfox would usually softlock me, so i would just run around in my prawn because when the iceworms attacked i would just speed boost and jet jump to the side (because jumping/walking to the side in the prawn makes you faster for some reason) and then the iceworm would just look disappointed at me. Found the snowfox more useful for escaping snowstalkers than iceworms.

I built a snowfox my first playthrough and although at first seemed unusable I eventually got used to it. I like that it's much faster and smoother than the prawn. Actually using a prawn for more than few minutes causes me headaches due to the constant up down bobbing while walking.

I stand by that the snow fox should have a underwater mode and should be equiped with 2 oxigen tanks. Kinda like modern wet subs

i recently finished Below Zero for the first time out of spite - made sure to get every achievement to be fully done with it - and by god, is the Snowfox clunky as hell. Felt kinda vestigial too, as i found it weirdly faster to just sprint everywhere (couldn't be bothered to make a prawn suit).

got Below Zero the second it launched into Early Access, and i'm so disappointed in how it turned out.

let's hope Subnautica 3 is as good as the original.

2:22 I think the great thing with the snow fox hover pad that you don’t even need energy for the snow fox to be charged Which means you could replace the battery with a dead battery and then come back to that one fully charged

I went my entire playthrough without building a snowfox, only to find out you got an acheivment for building it... so I built it solely to finish 100% the achievements and now its a decoration of phi island.

Still haven't used it.
