Technique over reps is the hardest lesson to learn as a newbie

I vomit and shit my pants at least once when I'm at the gym.. Sometimes my nose bleeds and I pass out. THEN I actually start lifting weights.

for me it's therapy, because that's when my mind finally shuts the f*ck up and can focus
As a result I've noticed in steadily also getting better on focusing on other tasks at work

Jared is right, a lot of people are too caught up with just putting on a show. I guess even the fools can make progress if they train long enough

I starting thinking about my week 4 and 5 leg days in week 1 so that my meso leg training peaks correctly. The night before a leg day, sometimes it keeps me up thinking about what tomorrow will bring. In the mornings before my leg sessions, I have to force myself to eat because my body knows I'm going to be vomiting soon, it doesn't want to eat. I don't talk to people on leg days. I don't even like them to approach me because it breaks my concentration. I'm focused, determined and committed to the pain! My sense of accomplishment afterward is immense, during the sessions, just pain and before pure anxiety. I love and hate leg days!!!

Been lifting 20 years "hardcore", powerlifting etc. But since starting the RP app 3 weeks ago, slowing reps down, pausing longer, less weight, getting used to reps in reserve, I feel like this guy near the end of sessions, completely blitzed physically and mentally.

If you have energy to scream and perform, you still have energy to push to failure

Up the weight, lower the rep count...do the rep slow and controlled. If failure comes by rep 6....you don't have time to get into your own head with thoughts of quitting. Before doing the first rep...I've only got 4 to 5 left of the set.

keep showing up, eat right and sleep right. Priorities over distractions

Training to failure, for weight training. Requires forced reps with your spotters help. You need to choose when you are going to do it. If your try to do it all the time, you will be injured

Most people don't need to go all out in every rep there build up so much fatigue. Progress over time, you don't need to go hard core on every rep cuz then your basically near your limit and can't progress

For 90% of average joes, a general warmup, and an intense set for a couple compound movements is all you need. Takes 30 mins tops, and you will have a better body than everyone you know except that one freak

I always thought its hilarious to imagine a runner doing what lifters do, screaming, form breaking down, collapsing and all their friends pat them on the back while they can't workout for another week.

Why on earth is RP getting so many hate comments recently? I thought it's mostly the science-based community who watches their stuff. It probs happened after Mike started trying to expand to the mainstream by reacting to celeb workouts

"...I want to fucking quit, but you are not..." Thats the part we have to remember. Those gus want to stop too, want to take it easy too, the brain does the exact same mental gymnastics to make you stop. The difference is that you keep doing it anyways.

Absolutely agree. Most ppl talking about absolute failure haven't a clue what it means.

I meet alot of ppl wanting to do HIT training thinking it's easier than doing 10-20 set a week to 1-3 rir.

No sir or madam. It's not. It's faster. That is all.

If time is the sole issue, HIT can be a viable alternative.
But easier. Gtfo. 😂

I remember seeing this dude eat cocoa puffs with Dr Mike at the Central Missouri dining hall. They looked absurd lumbering back to their table with their (relative to their bodies) tiny little bowls
