I want to share an example from a workplace There was a hospital manager that was sent to go coach He was trapped to be careful about Somebody has to really give you permission to coach them You need to build some relationships and people are going to have their guard up So I was asking some open-ended questions What do you want to talk about What are you trying to make progress on And she said I know I need to do these daily gamble locks and huddles And she said I'm stuck And I thought that makes me think of motivational interviewing She wasn't being resistant to lean management practices She was stuck in the state of ambivalence
