I'm 65, been going to shows for 50+ years and have never heard an accidental discharge. Thank God.

I quit going. I bought a gun from a dealer and noticed someone watching me. After I completed the BG check and paid, the guy came up to me and offered me $300 more than I paid. I laughed at him and said, “Nice try.” He walked off and I later saw him watching another transaction. I have a friend who runs a booth. I mentioned it to him and he said the guy is ATF. While I was there, no one took the bait. Legally, I can sell to anyone on a private basis, but I only deal with people I know very well. I smelled fed on him and do not trust them.

I was quite disappointed last year going to shows. You're spot on with the prices being high. I can go to Rural King and get a better deal on a Glock than I can at a show. I mainly go to shows to look around, maybe get a decent deal on reloading equipment or pick up a knife. Once in a while I will find a deal on something I just have to have, but its not common.
So will I go to shows in 2025?? Heck yes, but I will keep my expectations low.

In the 30+ years of going to gun shows in multiple states I have never heard of a unintentional gun firing. Everything else you mentioned is 100% correct from my experience.

Re: ADs: I have. ca. 1989, Prime Osborn Center, Jacksonville, FL. Show had just opened. Class III dealer was setting out an M60. Fortunately, he had it pointed toward the ceiling when he pulled the trigger. He was arrested and banned from future shows.

Gun show: leather goods, dream catchers, pencil drawings, fake civil war memorabilia, gutters, siding, boiled peanuts, wood carvings, and zero guns. My advice, don’t go to gun shows.

I have NEVER heard a gun go off at a gun show and I've been to tons of shows, especially in the 90's. There was one of not 2 a month and when we were able to travel a little further, there could be about 5 shows a month. Not one accidental firing of a gun.

I know that sellers will say anything. I sold a gun to a guy and came back to his table later where his friend was watching over the well marked up gun. He told me straight out lies about it.

Never been to a gun show where there's been a ND. I have found decently priced ammo though.

It's great to see what trends are sticking around and what’s fading out. I’m curious to see how 2025 shapes up—especially if we’ll see more modern accessories or a return to classic firearms.

There is usually the cabinet outside the entrance where you can pull the trigger and ensure the gun is clear, in the many times I thought have might have heard one there but no. Then the police checking and questioning inside the door. Very safe better than walking the streets. Big gun show this weekend in Indy, freezing and MORE snow, nasty parking, you won't see me there.

I went to shows where they always checked the guns coming in, no exceptions. Also that show had some discharges. Another show I went to made sure by using plastic ties to tie the actions open etc. A nuisance if you wanted to check the action.

I went to one in Columbus, OH that wasn't bad. I good some good deals on ammo, magazines, and used holsters for almost nothing. Guns, I could find cheaper at Fin, Feather, Fur, or the like.

I have never boeen to a gun show. I build most of my own range toys at a fraction of the cost of the prebuilt options... if i see something i like, i make a parts list and typically save about 40%... plus, i get the pleasure of assembling my new toy. This also gives me insight into how to fix it if something goes wrong during firing.

The one thing I used to find at gun shows all the time is parts to build ARs. I built my first AR from parts I bought, at gun shows. I could find the exact parts I needed to build what I had in my mind.
