People have been saying this for the last 3 years, and here we still are.

Ukraine is also suffering substantial casualties. There has been an exodus of Ukrainians also. The question is also can Ukraine hang on until Russia collapses. I'm 100% supportive of Ukraine, but I am also a realist. Many you tube reports say that Russia is finished - and been saying so for months. Maybe so, but the war is not over yet.

I remember a long string of American presidents saying that Fidel Castro wouldn't last long. They all entered and left office with Castro still sitting comfortably in his. So when someone says "...can't last long", I'm a little skeptic.

From a military history point of view, this war is absolutely fascinating and an evolution given the financial costs of drones and their impact and effectiveness on much more expensive but highly vulnerable battle tanks.

Correction: there are no wounded soldiers who survive the war. They are all sent back to the front as cannon fodder.

One statement only for the Military Show: Doing drugs is not so good but the very bad grade ones result into presentations like this. Good morning.

In the world of war casualties, those who have expired are not the largest liability to the regime. With a million plus young and skilled workers escaping army recruitment or war industrial employment, the emotionally and physically wounded survivors, returning from battle, will bring volatility to calm communities and existing workplaces. With addictions, missing limbs, and battlefield diseases, the Russian health care system and local law enforcement will be simply overwhelmed.

You see stats talking about the US having 10, 000 ships in WW2 vs 100 today. But then you realize that 1 aircraft carrier today could have taken down the entire Pacific Fleet. The point is, numbers are important, but quality matters more

Russia already lost because 1) Finland and Sweden joined NATO, 2) The eastern block countries gave their old Soviet era weapon systems to Ukraine and replaced them with newer, better, western systems, 3) NATO countries significantly increased their military budgets, 4) Europe has significantly decreased their dependance on Russian fossil fuels and are unlikely to return to using Russian fossil fuels even after the war is ended, 5) Russia has burned through a significant portion of their stockpile of Soviet era weapons, weapons they are unlikely to be able to replace in full even in decades, 6) Russia has shown that their new weapon systems are vastly inferior to western weapon systems. This means that once this war is over and Russia wants to start selling their weapon systems to other countries they are likely to find few buyers, and those they do find will want a steep discount to the pre war prices because they know what they are getting is crap. Look to India taking over most of the foreign weapon system sales that Russia used to have. After fossil fuels weapon systems were Russia's second largest export, 7) finally the stuff you mentioned, the killing, injuring and fleeing of a significant portion of their most valuable members of their population - young men. Something that is going to haunt them by limiting their ability to grow their economy, and to grow their population.
It is sad that Trump wants to end this war when, yes, Ukraine is getting depleted, but Russia is running out of their Soviet stockpile of equipment. 80% of Russian replacement equipment is refurbished Soviet era equipment, which is getting older and older by the quarter (the other 20% is new production). When they run out of that Soviet stockpile they will have only 1/5th the replacement equipment they have now, and the other 4/5th today is of increasingly poorer quality. So stopping now makes no sense, when Ukraine can be restocked with new western weapons effectively forever so long as they manage to have the men to use them. (Russia's economy is half that of Germany, so the west can dedicate a much smaller amount of its economy to military production and still massively outproduce Russia).

Building an empire is hard work, and when you throw incompetence and corruption into the mix, impossible.

The problem is that North Korea, Iran and China still gives Russia lots of supplies and the EU is not doing anything about that, like moving away from buying stuff from China!

One of the biggest Russian screw up was the lack of a robust logistics structure.

In his Easter speech, Putin looks more like Hitler in 1945. But has he loaded pistol in his desk drawer?

Their arrogance, in that they even took their Dress Uniforms to Ukraine is laughable.

Anyone who cannot achieve significant gains in three years with an army that is 5 to 12 times stronger (depending on the type of weapon) has LOST.
