Yes, we recommend using new adhesive when you seperate the touch screen from the frame.

We carry a really good adhesive on our website
Just type in "3m adhesive sheet" in the search box. Its double sided and is more than enough for this repair.

The hot glue most likely cools before you can get it fully in place but no worries, you can preheat your oven as low as it goes. Mine is at 175F then you place the digitizer and bezel in there and as the glue heats it spreads out and you get a perfectly flat fit. The other benefit of this is if you have to replace it again all you have to do is throw it in the oven and it will be much easier to take off than the OEM glue. Hope this helps!!

WOW! do I have to disassemble the whole phone to replace the glass-only?
How much would you take to repair it yourself?

Hey Guys so I just did this and I don't know if this helps or not but I've used the same technique in other electronics build. If you don't have the money/time for the 3M Sheets that InjuredGadgets have then you can take hot glue gun, wait for it to heat up as hot as it goes then barely put any on the corners and just a dab on each side of the bezel.

What would you use as adhesive? I was thinking of crazy glue, but I don't want to get adhesive on the digitizer around the camera. There seems to be very little room there, so the potential for error seems huge.

nice instruction, but now my display monitor does not work, does this have to with the flex cable going thru the keyboard casing or what, what do you think, the monitor worked fine before, i was just changing to digitizer .only.

What sort of adhesive should we use when putting the phone back together?

Before opening it my phone worked fine, i just wanted to change the digitizer which was broken. Now after following your instructions and put it back together the display does not work, not the digitizer. In other words i do not have ante display, it does power up by seeing the selection buttons lit up ., the flex cable no. 410n712 which is the centre flex cable, the female holding piece broke off, .do you think this the reason the display does not work

I managed to do everything in the video to replace my lcd screen. But now when I try to turn the phone on, nothing happens. When I plug it in, the orange led comes on for a few seconds but that's it, the phone just won't turn on. Could I get some troubleshooting tips or suggestions as to where I went wrong?

Around the 8:00 minute mark is where you de-laminate the entire LCD screen because the grey adhesive is too strong - even when heated by a tile-removing heat gun this adhesive is too sticky and has too large a surface area. Save your time, money and sanity and just have a professional replace it. You don't have access to every piece of adhesive cut to the exact size and shape of the touch panel, slide, buttons, etc....Please do not attempt this repair! It is too technical for most everyone.

When you separate the last two pieces, you are tearing apart the microscopic copper wires to the screen. This is why everyone fails with this repair. No, I do not have a business, or sell part. I am just a very experienced repair tech. I will never touch one of these.
