Regarding the "comp time is illegal" comment - the person is correct for those workers covered only by labor law. However, as a government employee you are no doubt part of a collective bargaining unit. Your union can legally negotiate and agree to terms which sometimes are not strictly in compliance with labor law. Comp time is common for government employees and is perfectly legal.

If you said "Gee, the sky is blue today", there are people out there who would find fault and tell you that you are wrong. I think you are doing a great job budgeting your money. You have a minor child and her wants can't always be ignored in favor of debt repayment. She has to count too.

Not sure if this has already been said but go on and block the people leaving negative or judgmental comments. Chances are those people have limited knowledge on single parenthood and the many sacrifices you are making. You and your daughter deserve all things good and you are allowed to treat yourself however you see fit.

Single momma (of 3, 2 are now out of high school) here. Look. You’re doing a GREAT job!!! It hurts my heart to hear you have to explain your situation and answer to the criticism. Being a single parent, especially with the economy these days, is so hard. I also work for the State of SC. The cost of living across SC isn’t the same as other states. So to see you working hard and covering your bills, just know, you’re far more blessed than so many. And I’m truly saddened that people are leaving negative comments. Enjoy your dinner out. Also, I hate that your living situation has become unsafe. Everything happens for a reason. God prepared you for this move. You had to be able to handle your funds and truly budget. That’s a HARD job. I was a residential housekeeper for almost 6 years. I just started a new job for $16/hr and still clean on the weekends.

People can be so rude and judgemental. $16.00 per hour is very low income. However, you are doing very well budgeting and making the best out of it. ive spent most of my working life (30 y/o) working for 15/hr and under!! but i dont have kids and i have roommates/family support so it looks different. What a gift youll be able to give to your daughter, all this knowledge on how to be thoughtful with your resources. And im sure it means the world to her that you get her hair professionally done <3

I’m a recent subscriber. I started watching you about 1.5 weeks ago and have binge watched every single one of your videos and the ads. Even the long ones!

So, it was a bit of an emotional roller coaster for me when about halfway through I learned you weren’t monetized, but then redemption was mine when I learned in later videos that you were now monetized, so all that time of letting the ads run wasn’t wasted after all. 🤣

I’m super excited that you’ve gotten your first YouTube paycheck. I would also love to see how you include that in your budget to hopefully get out of debt even more quickly, but I do understand your reasoning for not wanting to share.
