"We have too much hostility in our society." That's ripe from the guy who shot someone.

How horrible. Somehow, I'm not surprised he was let off on this. His wife and her statement, "I hope she finds someone else." Shame on her. These two are liars saying that this was the most frightening/scary situation they have ever encountered!!! They are in their 70s, and he worked SWAT, homicide, and hostage negotiations for years. Please. Save that sob story for someone else. Heartless.

When Reeves passes away people should go throw popcorn on his grave.

Only a coward pulls a gun out for such a trivial situation.

Chad can’t look at his phone but this guy can bring a gun in a theater. Rules for thee but not for me, and I don’t think popcorn would’ve killed anyone.

It seems to me that many join law enforcement for the chance to be able to use their weapon. I refuse to believe that this ex-cop, after 48 years, "feared for his life" just because a person (who had his wife with him) simply threw popcorn at him!!! Could be the cop had a bad temper and was trigger happy. That's all.

Florida sucks for a lot of reasons but "stand your ground" is number 1

How many interviews did he do? Looks like he’s making the rounds. So, is he making money off this now ? What a freaking ghoul, hope his judgement comes at some point.

"She's a young woman. I sincerely hope she finds someone else and to be a father to her child" - wife of the man who shot the 'young woman's ' husband to death.

Disgusting. The bossy, self-righteous armed curmudgeon provoked the situation, relentlessly harassed Oleson, and killed him and wounded his wife. Reeves lies in the account here, omits the fact when he came back to his seat he started harassing Oleson again. He got away with murder in my opinion.

Can you imagine? Chad's daughter may one day become curious about how her daddy died. Watching this video would be heartbreaking:

reporter: would you do anything differently?
killer: I'd go to a different movie.

This is crazy if he was a different race this guy would be having the death penalty

I would have found him guilty mainly that he disobeyed the sign prohibiting weapons. The shooting would never had happened! Why didn't he aim to wound him, or better yet, shoot at the floor? The warning would be sufficient. Without a doubt, this case tells me that unfairness still prevails in our judicial system. It was "rigged". Perhaps the poor woman and baby girl can collect legal compensation for this murder. My heart goes out to her⚠️

It's completely baffling how the court allowed such jury instructions to be considered and deliberated by the jury. The jury essentially put Chad Oulson (He was the victim) on trial instructed jury to find him guilty without any required burden of proof while at the same time required State to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Curtis Reeves was guilty of killing Oulson. If one reads the jury instructions, the jury is required to prove the State's case beyond a reasonable doubt but not required to use any burden of proof to prove Chad Oulson was guilty of battery. I have never seen that in court where a court had instruction a jury to consider the guilt of a person without any burden of proof. Only the prosecution can bring charges against a person. The court or defense can't bring charges against a person but that is exactly what happened in this case.
