The words in this song touches my heart. Sad that so many are born in the ghetto. I wish we lived in a world whre the babies didn't grow up and haft to steal to eat. They live in a place where they haft to learn to fight to survive and many are forced to join gangs thus putting a gun in their hands. It's so sad cause many do die, and the Mther's cry.

This song is so profound. Elvis died when I was very young, however I was always drawn to this song before I knew what it was about. It held true then, it holds true now. I don't know if "ghetto" is proper terminology is this day and age. However poverty in the inner city is still here in 2021. Sad. Chicago is a mess.
