Conservative MPs are quietly getting their leadership campaigns under way to become the new lead of the Party, after the prime minister announced his resignation on Thursday.

Around a dozen MPs are believed to be preparing campaigns or canvassing support.

Largely I thought this was very good, but it is not yet perfect. Some people were occasionally milling about in the foreground, and appearing unwantedly in reflection in the door. There was an undesirable background hubbub. But most of all, every now and then someone came along and was admitted. Did these people not realise that the door was being videoed? Could they not use another door? Still, a promising start. I hope there will be a channel dedicated to this.
