And the saddest part is that he did all this for charity hoping to make a change of others lives by jeopardising his own. I hope he finds a way to live on without his fingers, I can’t imagine the shock and inevitability of the situation.

The scarier thing that you didn't mention was the reason he stayed up there was because of the brain damage incurred by the lack of oxygen. He lost touch with reality and had to be brought down by rescuers since he had no idea where he was.

Probably the creepiest part about this for me is that there's an apparent clear border between the alive and dead tissue

Every body on Everest was once a highly motivated person, never forget that

It's terrifying to think that he looks so chill about when internally you know he's trying to come to terms with what they're going to be doing with those fingers and how it'll affect him for the rest of his life

This guy is in shock most likely just not sure how he will cope with losing his fingers

He can’t even feel that… he’s just gonna have to stare at his hand knowing he’s gonna lose his fingers… and it doesn’t even hurt…

I'm glad it's only the one hand!
I saw a story about a girl who got dropped off by her friends after going out and they didn't make sure she got inside and she passed out drunk on the front porch in winter and she lost ALL her fingers and toes and almost died.
ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOUR FRIENDS GET IN THE HOUSE SAFELY!

As a musician, loosing even one of my fingers is horrifying

Everyone is saying that this is sad and everything. Nah bro, it sucks that he's losing some fingers, but the guy almost lost his life. Most people would die if they had to spend the night at that elevation. This dude is a beast and an inspiration. Humans are amazing 💪

As a guitarist. I honestly don't know if I'd be able to live without my fingers. Like seriously it terrifies me

Update: Fahad recently got an amputation done and has begun training again. These mountaineers aren't talked about, and their legacies are going untold. It's sad to see one of the greatest feats ever go unnoticed by majority of the public. As an aspiring mountaineer it seems difficult to maintain it as a proper profession.

I haven't even seen him start reacting, but my instant reaction was "that's so much necrosis"

All things considered I'd say he probably got off pretty good only losing a few fingers instead of more. Hope he is still able to have a good life

He did a follow up video where he shows his amputated fingers, u can see the pain in his eyes but he takes it on the chin like a champion. Something like this is honestly one of my worst fears, safe to say I'm not climing any mountains no time soon 😅

For a second I thought he had dipped his fingers in black wax multiple times and let it dry😑
It's horrible to know a part of your body needs to be amputated.

This happened to one of my toes. One day on my way in to work, due to heavy snow the trains were out and I had to walk several miles through thick snow. It did not go so well. After that day my big toe went pitch black and was in constant shear pain if anything touched it. The doctors told me that the toe was dead and that I should amputate it. However my logic was that if it’s hurting so much. Then it’s not dead. I nursed it in warm salt water and ate various foods (vegetables) to increase blood flow every day for about a year. Slowly over time the black skin pealed away and now I have a normal healthy toe/foot again.

I mean…I’ve spent my life
Dealing with medical issues so
I 100% understand the morbid amusement of tapping my dead fingers on the wall and probably laughing about it. Dark humor is the best way to cope with stuff like this. It keeps the self pity away.
