I am a new subcriber, and I really enjoyed this video. I was in Prague in early December in 2018, and I loved it. I did not really know what to expect, but it was lovely. I bought lots of glass Christmas ornaments, and we spent lots of time in the Square and going over the Charles Bridge.

Great video again as ever! 😍 I just had to say…your family so reminds me of my uncles and cousins lol! I’m Dutch, and my family from my mums side mostly live in the north east of the Netherlands in a province called Drenthe. They speak Drents, which is a Low Saxon dialect. Now I always understand the female members of my family just fine, cause they articulate when they talk. The men however, I could really use live subtitles for them! They just mumble SO much! But I experience the same in this video, I have no problem understanding you with your Irish accent, but your dad and the guys…sorry I just need more subtitles 🙈😅

Kafka's head (so-called Hlafka by insiders) used to spin every 15 minutes for 5 minutes until just a few months ago, and it was SO much better! Now it's really inconvenient for everyone to wait a whole hour just to see it move, and after a few minutes of spinning, you get tired of it anyway. So you were kind of right with your guess!

Hi Eireann, in those two days you really only saw a little fraction of Prague - it's best to have a week and good weather to visit Prague - the best weather is at the end of April and the beginning of May - it's sunny, it's not yet the full Central European heat that melts asphalt, the trees are still beautifully bright green and Prague is not yet as overrun with tourists as in the summer.
If you like gardens, go to the Wallenstein Gardens in Mala Strana - it's free and a beautiful Renaissance affair. A short walk away are the Kolowrat and Pálffy Gardens on the hillside below the Castle - you have to pay for these, but they're gorgeous. Other beautiful gardens are at Belvedere behind the Deer Moat opposite Prague Castle. If you like old Gothic churches, visit the Anne's Monastery - built in the 13th century by St Anne of Bohemia (sister of King Wenceslas I). If you like narrow streets and tiny houses, go to Nový svět in Hradčany. If you want to see a Baroque fortress, visit Vyšehrad - it has a beautiful view. There is also a beautiful view from the Petřín lookout tower in Strahov. The Strahov Monastery has a beautiful Baroque library and its own brewery that is almost 900 years old. The very oldest brewery in Bohemia (dating from 993 AD) is a short distance away from there in the Břevnov Monastery.
If you like pork, go to Pork's restaurant in Mostecká Street - you'll have to queue, but you won't get a better pork knuckle anywhere else in the world (people come to visit the restaurant from South Korea, Japan and China - Asians love great pork).
If you like to watch the sunset, the best view is in the evening from Rieger's Orchards - you buy a beer there, sit on the hillside, drink, chat and watch the sun go down behind the Castle. Let me know if you want to know more. :)
