I Created a Competition for 7 Cocky Platinum Freestylers

Rocket League Freestyling can be done at any rank. The problem is that most freestylers say they can do freestyles, but in reality, the probably can't..or at least not consistently enough. Well, we've got some cocky platinum freestylers here today to prove me and everyone else wrong. Just because you are a certain rank, doesn't make you bad at something in the game. Let's find out who can actually back up their cocky talk.

Infinity is actually really good for plat, I can see him being in a freestyle clan if he keeps practicing and ranks up.

What people fail to realize is that saying you’re a “plat with amazing mechanics/can freestyle” is just saying your game sense is terrible. Like if you really do have the mechanics you claim, the only way you could be stuck in plat is if you’re especially bad at every other part of the game to balance it out

Old head here: Glad these lads are finding enjoyment with learning these mechanics. Reminds me of playing low ranks in Halo (2) and laughing at how often they’d throw sticky grenades in a gun fight.

Nonsense game sense situational awareness but hey, they’d sometimes manage to get a kill on the Smurfs (referred to as “sand-bagging” in ranked MM back then).

We all love hitting stickies and if they had more patience with learning there’s a time and place, they’d certainly rank higher. Accuracy will only get so great on its own but keep on sticking and learning your own way, champs/plats.

Hi I'm infinity, I would like to point out that nerves are a huge part of how well you perform in these video recordings. I'm sure everyone I played with is actually better than what they did in the video.

Also right after my horrendous breezi attempt, we both went for difficult stuff and missed like 10 shots each. That bit was edited out so it seemed like I just immediately went again.

I have never ever ever ever ever seen a platinum do a flip reset or anything close. They usually even have a hard time hitting the ball once off the wall up that high. These videos really confuse me and I’m a diamond 1 right now and have been for like six months. Literally never see stuff like this lol

I feel that like 2 of the plats here just wanted to be on a video, they couldn't even air dribble. Now, I'm plat and can't air dribble, but I'm getting so close but they just jumped away from the ball. Infinity was an actual freestyler, huge potential.

*Edit: I just wanna point out that I did the same shot twice in horse because I wanted to see if he could do it after I told him to bounce off his corner (I told him and serpent to try to go off the corner of their car). I could have just done the same shot and won. I decided not to do the shot after the second time because it woulda been rude -_-. I'm just sayin this bc ppl be like, "Haha, the Weeva kid deserved to lose, he did a mechanic that he knew Infinity couldn't do, karma!"
And it doesn't help that this point is evasive to the entire meaning of the game Horse.
also I did 1 ceiling pogo when serpent was still in and one when he was out, I didn't spam it on the same 2 ppl, only after serpent was gone did I do it again (which i know still doesn't make it much better but c'mon).
I'll also point out, I was debating doing it again, which you could infer by wathcin, bc he didn't do it. I just decided to do it 1 more time*

These plats are so bad it hurts me how they can see "i deserve higher than plat" when double flip resets don't prove that you are way better than other plats or even diamonds. Hell im a gc 1 and i can hit triple resets but im not surprised when i do them because they are not hard. Platinums are the most cocky rank ever.
