It looks like the eagle is plucking the chick before eating it. I guess the eagle doesn't want to eat the feathers.

YouTube has proven to be more educational than most books on animals. Most books claim birds of prey kill their victims by crushing them with their talons, but almost every video I see shows the prey being eaten alive by eagles and hawks. Nature can be so cruel, yet fascinating

By pulling out the feathers, it's the same as someone ripping out your hair or pulling out your fingernails, but all over your body.

It wasn't being eaten alive.. the Eagle was removing the down feathers before tearing it apart, at the end of the video. Also the chick was clearly dead at the end, due to shock and suffocation, from the Eagle crushing it to death.
