Traditional pocket knives may be classic, but they’re far from obsolete in today’s world. In this video, I explore why these timeless tools still hold value in modern EDC, combining tradition with utility. Whether you’re a knife enthusiast or new to the world of everyday carry, you’ll see why these blades have earned a permanent spot in my rotation. And why my favorite is the Case Sodbuster Jr

Scripture of the Day: Proverbs 15:1
“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”

I carry a traditional pocket knife. When I use it in public, it doesn’t cause anyone to think at me twice because a 3 blade traditional knife is not threatening!

I carry a large sod buster as a backup to my Recon-1. Love both of 'em.

Traditional knives are still fun to keep in the left pocket and they are very useful tools that don't "offend" people. I carry my modern knives clipped in my right pocket along with a smaller 5tb pocket knife. In my left pocket there is always some type of traditional, typical a sod buster or sod buster JR that I made custom blades 10 years ago for them in cpm 440v at 63rc with very thin grinds. I just made two blades out of them last week that I've finished but not installed yet out of Hap72 that both came out in mid 77rc range with cryo. The old 440v blades have been sharpened many many times over the last 10-11 years so they was getting real thick behind the edge and is definitely time to replace them. I gotta get those Hap72 blades all patina up from lots of use can't wait to get them done tomorrow and get to using them. I've got two deer in the aging room right now that have been hanging 3 days so Sunday they will both be broken down and packaged for the freezer and those two sod blades will be what's used to start the patina.

I still have the Case Sodbuster black handled knife I bought in 1967 to use at work. It is beat up and the blade is now black from age, but I will never get rid of it. I now carry a Swiss Army knife. I can't afford fancy knives, but I do have a humble collection. I appreciate the meditation. Thank you for that. I am a Christian and am now subscribed to your channel. God Bless!

Traditionals are definitely a unique style of pocket knife. I also love the proverbs a day study like I've mentioned before. But that proverb has definitely helped me in my life.

New sub. Confess: I'm a lapsed Catholic, but I really like your message of soft words and trying to be courteous. Also a huge traditional pocket knife sort of guy. I joke my holy trinity of knives are Buck, Victorinox and Cold Steel. Look forward to exploring your content. Thank you much.

So glad i came across this video. Really love the message. My favorite and has been for many many years is the Sodbuster Jr. I have a modest collection of knives but it seems like one of my Sodbusters always finds their way into my pocket!

Current favorite traditional knife is my 2018 GEC #44 Buffalo Jack in gabon ebony. A total user for me.

Runner up is my Moki glory with quince wood and ss bolster. Its strictly a dress knife though.
