Columbus City Council member Mitchell J. Brown held a public hearing of the Public Safety Committee at the Michael Coleman Government Center, on May 22nd, to examine the HeartSafe Columbus Taskforce findings and recommendations. The HeartSafe Columbus Taskforce was created to identify strategies to enhance survival from sudden cardiac arrest by increasing bystander engagement in CPR and AED deployment. This effort is a collaboration between the Columbus Division of Fire, Columbus Division of Police, American Heart Association, American Red Cross, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Ohio Health, Trinity Health System, Columbus Department of Public Health, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 9, International Association of Firefighters Local 67, Columbus City Attorney, and Columbus Department of Public Safety.
