Crips? Bloods? No, the real OGs and inventor of the drive-by was the Northside Hosers.

Given the time and tech used in WW I, these were impressive vehicles.

My favorite was the flail tank. A tank that beat the ground with heavy chains to detonate mines.

WWI equivalent of a Toyota Hilux with a PKM mounted in the bed

Autocar was very advanced for it's time, a Good choice for any armored vehicle!

Funny how this idea has changed only slightly with the smei-modern "hummer".

It wasn't until the biggest battlefield threat became homemade landmines (IEDs) that the MRAP replaced the machinegun car.

In October 1918 in the advance on Mons, the 2nd Canadian Division had an improvised truck mounted brigade group, which functioned largely as the World's first mechanized infantry.

Those things must have been MAD HEAVY!!
And one can only imagine those wheels in deep mud! Thus "BOGGED IN" must have been literal!

Looks like the makings of an Armored Personal Carrier (APC) to me.

I feel like we need an American Automobile Machine Gun Brigade.... Like AAA but more American.

Ahh, yes, of course Canadians, the innovators of "it isn't a war crime the first time", came up with the idea of self-propelled armored vehicles with machine guns mounted to them

And between 1914 and 1918, wonder what the unit did?

I don't always drive heavy cumbersome vehicles but when I do, it's an AUTOCAR

I know what you mean, but you might want to add automobile to the description. According to Wikipedia siege towers with wheels date back to the Bronze Age. And armored trains date back to the US Civil War. Ships have their own arc.

All bits of history that deserve to be remembered.
