How about pronouncing it the french way as it should be and not the ignorant-english way. Stop being english-centric when the word is clearly french.

She’s teaching you how to say it in English because you are speaking english where the word was basically changed in spelling because English speakers cannot pronounce the “oeu” and “vre” sounds. If you want to pronounce it in French, pronounce oeu as an “uh” sound like you got punched in the stomach, and pronounce the “vre” the same in English but towards your throat instead of towards the front of your mouth.

English makes it more complicated, we could just say ‘or-deuv’ which is much closer to the french pronunciation. But no, somebody had to put an r before the v even tho its clear that that r was after v
