Thank you! I love your common sense advice about focusing on the basics, otherwise you will end up fixing those mistakes later.

Good info. I have used the 3m guide coat on many occasions. I now really prefer the Mirka dry guide coat! Especially since they have dark and light, depending on which primer I use. Thanks, Tom

Thank you!! Awesome videos. Just came across them on a FB page this morning. Like how you get straight tot the teaching point without all the extra bs talking. Keep them coming! I'm gonna start sharing them with my co-workers.

I never used guide coat before all I used was primer first paint then clearcoat last I noticed some scratch marks I saw after I had put clearcoat on before.

is there a reason you used short blasts of air rather than just holding trigger? around 3:49

You need to try Mirka guide coat. Way cheaper and darker it seems.

So what you are essentially saying is "wax on, sand off" (?) Thanks for the tip!

Also, isn't it a good idea to blow off all of the exsess dry guide so that you aren't smearing it all around while sanding?

I strip down my bumper to repaint it. Ended up with 220 wet, ready for adhesion promoter and primer.

if I leave it out like this with no primer for a few days and it rains Will that cause any problems

After you sand the guide coat, and you have low spots, do you keep sanding till they disappeat or do you fill them?

Guide coat do you only put it over body filler or primer because am gonna use some more Bondo again to put over some spots on my truck. This 2k primer and clearcoat gonna have to know how to mix right though I bought online because I have never used it before I can look at the directions on it but it will be the first time using it.

just wondering is there any reason you guys did not prime the rear door all the way to the end ? seems like there is only 1 or 2 inches left anyway

How about using guide coat on area that just has scratches and you don't need Bondo. In the front of my truck it has scratches but I didn't apply Bondo to it.
