I have eight shades from the Maybelline one, and it's my favourite liquid lipstick because of how comfortable it is, since most other liquid lipsticks give a drying feeling but this one doesn't, somehow.

Application is tricky! You can either get a great result that lasts for over 8 hours intact, eating included, or a sticky mess that gets worse over time. The main difference is the amount of product you layer. Doing a very thin layer makes a world of difference. I would also recommend lining the outline of the lips first with a lipliner so you don't end up putting excess product when trying to perfect the line. I usually apply it on my bottom lip, rub my lips together so it transfers to the upper lip, then perfect the cupid's bow. With the applicator no longer having much product in it, you can go over the areas that are missing a bit of pigment. It will be completely dry in about 5-10 minutes from there, and if I avoid pressing my lips together during that time there will be no sticky layer on top.

I really like the colours on this line, I'm especially fond of the shades Visionary (a muted purple) and Huntress (purplish grey), which are one of the most opaque considering these kind of colours are often difficult to get right. My favourite has to be the shade Voyager, which is a dark wine red, and has a good formula even if it's a dark colour, very pigmented. It also seems that the newer lines of this product get more consistent with the formula and require less product, while some of the original ones have a formula that is harder to work with (Believer is one of the worst ones in the line, it's the plum one, which is a shame because it's such a pretty colour).

Like one of the other commenters said, on shades that require more product to get good pigmentation licking your lips seems to do the trick. Also some people like setting it with translucent powder. I personally like blotting it with tissue paper as if it were a normal bullet lipstick, blotting a few times removes the sticky feeling and leaves it looking more matte as well.

I am using the maybeline and it is the most lasting one. But you are right thinking the colors preform differently. Love the more nude colors like 65, 15 and 70. It takes about 15 minutes till it dries and then it is like a tatoo, doesn't move at all .

I love essence liquid lipsticks. But here in Greece one is the protagonist: Golden rose. I have 12 different shades from 4 different series and I think I haven't find anything else in this price (4.5 euro) to replace them

in Australia Maybelline is often on half-price sale and the Superstay Matte Ink is $10 AUD. When I purchased first time I also applied the way you did and felt very sticky at the beginning and cracky at the end of a day 🙃 Later on I realized the best way to wear that is either just a thin layer sheer out with your finger or full opacity layer (but not overloaded) with a bit setting powder, total game-changer !

And it removed easily with Maybelline Superstay remover, quick and scrub-free removal

I love Maybelline liquid lipsticks!!! I have a hard time finding lipsticks that will stay on my lips. Acidic spit!!! Maybelline is my fav. Tried the Essence cuz of you not bad. Maybelline. the kind we are talking about costs $13 Canadian!!! Most lipsticks last 20 mins on me!!! Butthole lips no one wants that!!! 😥😒😥 😷😎😷 Thanks for the vid.

The loreal infallible and les chocolates and les macarons are all my favourite, I think the formula is very good for my lips. As for the stickiness, I use the loreal infallible second part with all of them and in that way they are not at all sticky, the have the same longevity and they look a bit glossy, which I like💗💗💗 I will try the elf Vassilikoula, they looked so nice on your lips🥰

My favorite is the matte ink lipstick. I have it in several colors and no problems with applying and it lasts the whole day even with eating fatty things.
I think the problem is the color. I tried heroine in the shop and it didn't apply nicely. And NEVER apply two layers of the matte ink. They always look terrible with two layers. I can look up the colors that I have later 😊

I like the Maybelline one, but yeah, a second coat on the lips looks terrible, and I also have a hard time applying it when using a red shade😂
I like to wait until it dries, and after that I lick my lips so the sticky feeling goes away😂😂 nice video as always! ❤

I looove the maybelline ones, I apply a thin layer and smudge it out slightly and it stays forever. I have to work really hard to get it off too. I have the voyager shade, the dark dark red, and fighter, a sort of orangey brown color

I have the Maybelline in “Romantic”. It is a fabulous color, and it applies nearly opaque. But it is not easy to use, it is sticky but somehow drying; and reapplication doesn’t look nice. I also struggle to remove it. So, i don’t really, really like it... 😆

I love the Maybelline liquid lipstick, the application is a little tricky but if you put a thin layer and wait like 10 minutes for it to dry, it will look amazing. It won't settle on the lines, it won't be drying or sticky at all and it lasts through a world war, there's no need to retouch. I wear Pioneer every day.

I bought the Maybelline lipstick and for that price, i was disappointed. For me it's really annoying that's it's sticky.
But i bought the Essence Stay Matte 8h lipstick and i fell in love with it😍 it's creamy, dries fast, long lasting and beautiful
