Atkinson cycle
it's a method of different combustion compared to otto cycle...
first proposed by james atkinson in 1882
in traditional otto cycle engines the compression and expansion strokes are equal while in atkinson cycle the intake valve in opened longer, resulting in some of the air n fuel mixture back into the intake manifold
making the compression stroke smaller than expansion stroke which allows more energy to be extracted from the burnt fuel before exhausting out the tailpipe... making it really efficient but comes with the expense of less power output
